[sticky post] Mates Only

I guess you could say, with the exception of a few hither and thither, that this is a Friends Only journal.
I like the Writer's Blocks, though, so those tend to be public.

So, yeah.
I don't mind adding or making new friends, so by all means, feel free to add me, but if you want to get achievment points (see: read locked entries) leave a comment, or messsage me...YO!

Sherlock Season 2

Great news!!
Sherlock season 2 is FINALLY on Netflix!

Guess what I am doing this weekend?o
Being a Cumberbabe!

“It’s flattering, though I worry about what it says for feminism, it’s quite a pejorative term… Cumberbabes might be better.” - Benedict Cumberbatch, Sherlock Holmes in BBCs Sherlock.

Any who I am excited!!!

Writer's Block: Tea for two

This question is very funny in timing.
Yesterday I got fed up, and was thinking to myself “dang it Joie! You love books!!! You love libraries! Get your Masters in doing what you love MOST!!!” and as I was explaining this to some people, I realized, that secretly, I want to close the library at night, but have a sort of Night at the Museum experience, but more like Night at the Library!!!
It would be really interesting to see if the characters in fictional books came to life! Imagine chatting with Dumbledore, Merlin and Gandolf! Having tea with Hercule Poirot, Ms. Marple Sherlock Holmes and Arsene Lupin! Playing croquet with Alice, the Queen of Hearts, and Princess Alyss (YES! This is a TOTAL Frank Beddor name drop! DEAL!).
If I were to base things in books I LOVE I would of course want to meet Harry Potter (as I am sure many fictional characters would want to as well).
However, if the realm of reality were to bend, I mean ever really bend to this notion of meeting a fictional person, I would say Thursday Next! Because if Thursday Next were made flesh and blood, then so too would all other fictional characters!!! Because she and I would be hanging out, all the others mentioned would be a reality! Also, she packs a piece, and maybe I could get a gun too!!! LOL!
The only other single character who is from television would be Dr. Who. Cause you know what? I am SO down for space-time travel. I plan on encouraging my future children to be physics aces, in the hope—however extreme—of them discovering time travel!!!
I am a geek! And I stand proud!!!

Writer's Block: Space Wars

Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, Serenity, Alien, 2001—there is a long list of movies and TV shows that take place in space. Which is your favorite?

I LOVE Star Wars!
I grew up watching it, love the lore and the story...even the rinky-dink prequels. I don't read the books though.

Star trek is fun cause its nostalgic and cheesy and fun.

Firefly was a brilliant show that was too short lived. If you've seen it you know!

My favorite is Cowboy Bebop. The anime is well played in characters, music, animation and story. It and firefly have fun Robin Hood meets western in space. I love it!!!

Writer's Block: Comedians as Journalists

Distrust of the media has grown to the point where many people only trust the news if it comes from a comedian. Who do you trust more: Stephen Colbert or Jon Stewart?
hmmm...well, both make fun of each side, not just one.

Stewart, because his motto in tackling the news seems to be stupid is stupid, and he'll make fun of whichever side is mucking up their Info, quotes, speeches, and the world.

And while its funny/stupid that people think Colbert is really like O'reilly, & you can tell Stewart really distrusts conservatives, I would still say Stewart. But colbert IS more enjoyable to watch.

Writer's Block: I Love Lucy

I Love Lucy premiered today in 1951, and has been on the air ever since. Although Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz’s marriage didn’t last off the air, Lucy and Ricky are one of the great couples in television history. Who is your favorite TV couple?

Fred and Wilma are there of course, and though its mostly for book reasons, yet they dis get a TV show, Jake and Cassie from animorphs, and Pam and Jim from the Office!

Will and Grace are my favorite non-couple couple! Also, I really like Chuck and Blair lol!

oooh!ooh! and The Monarch, and Dr. Mrs. the Monarch (formally Dr. Girlfriend)! they are the fun!
